Anniversary - Boundary Park Ollerton Chelford Knutsford

Rally Officers - Jacqui and Tony Bickerton

Rally Report by Kenny Dodds

This years Anniversary Rally was held at Boundary Park,Chelford,17 caravans attended this popular venue.

FRIDAY
Most of the members arrived early,as the rally officers were there the night before. The weather was fair but a chilly wind, which eased off later in the day for the HARDY to sit around the fire.

SATURDAY
Was warmer, the ice cream van came on the site in the afternoon and done a roaring trade,so it must have been warmer.
At 6.45pm we were all invited into the gazebo to toast the CLUB with champers and cake(both very nice, hick, hick) then the rally officers,TONY,JACQUI and RICHARD organized tow games, the first game was Play Your Cards Right which was won by Lyn Hough. The second game was Name the Next Line of the Song, Beryl Price won this one. This was followed by a most enjoyable buffet laid on by the rally officers, followed by music and socializing to complete a most enjoyable evening.

SUNDAY
Coffee morning was earlier (10am) to allow more time at the car boot sale for those that wanted to go. This was another successful rally.

Petruth Paddocks Cheddar Somerset

RALLY OFFICERS - Maureen & Neil Barnett, Laura & Vic Woodward

Rally report by Emma

The rally at Cheddar was in a beautiful area of the country & a great site for visiting many towns of interest. A short walk down the cycle path, brought you out right in the middle of Cheddar village. Handy for stocking up on your beer at Tescos! Further on, you came to The Gorge. A really nice selection of shops & restaurants. The best Fish & Chips ever & the perfect Cream tea. Some members even walked up the top of the Gorge & Jacobs ladder.
Others ventured off in their cars to Weston Super Mare & Wells.
One of the best things about The Gorge was watching the sweets being made & of course the Cheese & Scrumpy! The weather was very unpredictable, with strong winds & torrential rain - causing a lake in the middle of the field. A few awning poles got broken & some members even had their own water supplies running into their awnings. Thanks to Vic, Laura, Neil & Maureen for their great efforts in delivering cheese & pickles to every caravan during a downpour! When the weather was dry, it was actually very nice. Close to the site, was a brewery, chocolate factory and Garden Centre. It was a perfect location, it was such a shame about the weather.

Swallowdale Farm The Red Lion Station Road Goostrey

Rally Officers John & Marie Harrison.

Rally Report By Emma

Thanks to John & Marie for stepping in at short notice as rally officers for this rally. It was a good turn out with 16 vans and a trailer tent.
A lovely venue with good views of the Radio telescope at Jodrell Bank.
Most members had a walk round the village & also visited the garden centre. Thanks to the garden centre for donating a plant for the raffle.
A quiz was done by Megan (John & Maries granddaughter) - now just who did get married at St.Lukes Church?
Some members sat round the fire and even braved the elements with their umbrellas up!
Sunday morning, we all woke up to a bit of a shock. The rally field, trees and caravans were covered in white stuff...SNOW !
It was beautiful to see & a few of the children made snowmen, including Laurel Sant!
But by coffee morning, most of the snow had melted and we were stood in glorious sunshine.
However, this didn't last long, as we were all packing away in more snow showers in the end.
This will be one rally that we won't forget!

Marbury Country Park Comberbach. March 7th - 9th

Rally Officers Jill & Alan Jodrill, Christine & Kenny Dodds

Rally Report by Emma

What a beautiful setting for a rally! Very picturesque with some lovely walks within the park.
Although it had been forecast a rotten weekend, the weather was brilliant & many members were barbequing in the evening sun.
The quiz was a real bugging one, especially the pictures. It's funny how you don't recognise things you see everyday! Thanks to the rally officers for such a good quiz!
Marbury Country park was in a good location for visiting Northwich & Warrington and just down the road was Anderton boat lift, which a few members saw working.
On the Sunday, a few members went for a walk down to the lake within the park & called in at the garden centre next door, where we all admired some stone horses...until we saw the the price!
An enjoyable rally in lovely surroundings was had by all. Thanks to Alan, Jill, Kenny & Christine for running it!

A.G.M - Bickerton Village Hall January 25th - 27th 2008

Rally report by Emma Roberts

The A.G.M 2008 was very successful with 21 vans attending. The rally area was a lot better than in previous years.
The meeting on Saturday afternoon went very well & a few members who were not on the rally made the effort just to attend the meeting - thank you.
Gordon Sant decided that after 10 years of being on the committee it was time to let someone else have a go & he stepped down as Chairman.
There was a real change round in the Committee with Neil Barnett joining the general committeeas Allan Jodril stood down, Wynn Barcoe moving to Rally Secretary, Peter Barcoe also joining the general committee, Steve Roberts, Tony and Jacqui Bickerton, Frank Hough and Kenny Dodds staying in their current positions. Congratulations to Bob Barcoe who took over as Chairman.
The meeting was followed by tea, coffee, biscuits & general chit chat.
Final rehearsals for the A.G.M play - what a scream!
Later Saturday evening began with 3 games of bingo - called by Jill Jodrill.
This was followed by the ERF entertainers - dressed up as the Village People, doing a job centre scene. Laura Woodward was very good at playing the job centre lady, I don't know how she kept her face straight, with us all acting the fool! The Village People then performed a trio of songs with some dodgy dance routines! Of course the stars of the show were Mr. Bean & his pet chicken!
The buffet was excellent - thanks to all members for pulling together.
The second half of the evening, we were thoroughly entertained by a group called Country Folk. Very entertaining & witty. They performed a good mixture of country & folk songs that encouraged the audience to participate with a few 'hay's here and there. Thanks to Wyn & Bob who organised and paid for this. After the group many members hit the dance floor & had a good dance. It was nice to see people really enjoying themselves.
Sunday morning we had coffee morning in the hall - with the raffle & everyone eating the leftovers of the buffet. Bob Barcoe made his first coffee morning speech. We wish him well as Chairman!

Coronation Hall Bickley October 19th - 21st

Rally Report by Emma Roberts

Thanks to the committee for a brilliant weekend at Bickley Hall. The weather was excellent for late October and we had full use of the hall all weekend. On the Friday evening a few members got together in the cozy club room at the back of the hall. On Saturday most people gathered in the main hall for a few games of bingo called by Kenny Dodds, now known as the fastest bingo caller in the west, followed by some ERF style horse racing! See bottom photo for the motley crew of jockeys!

Whitehorn Farm Astbury Congleton April 20th - 22nd 2007

Rally Officers - Laurel & Gordon Sant, Brenda & John Wilkinson

Rally Report By Emma

Thanks to Gordon, Laurel, John & Brenda for an excellent rally & the Cheshire quiz, which was a lot of fun.
The weather was great all weekend, with a fantastic view of Mow Cop which made up for a rather poor rutted field. Everyone was walking round as if they were drunk, trying to avoid twisted ankles and cow muck. The other minor problem was that there was no water on the field and we had to go to the fishery in the car between certain hours.
Coffee evening incorporated a double celebration with a tipple & cake. Congratulations to Barbara & Dave Hill on reaching their Golden Wedding & Happy Birthday to Marie Harrison.

Easter - Craven Arms Shropshire April 5th - 9th 2007

Rally Officers - Wyn & Bob Barcoe, Emma & Steve Roberts

Thanks to Wynn & Bob for another great rally, a very interesting one it was too.
Rally field was on a beautiful site, peaceful apart from the odd train & in a lovely part of the country. Again fantastic weather which added to the enjoyment. Thanks to all who took part in the treasure hunt & well done Vic & Laura who took first prize for finding 'the small white thing' (raffle ticket hidden on notice board). A great Sunday night get together took place instead of coffee morning, which included Wynn's famous punch made in a bucket ( approximately 99% proof) & vodka jellies (equally potent) - see photos!

Soss Moss Nether Alderley March 23rd - 25th

Rally Officers - Wyn & Bob Barcoe

Rally Report By Emma

The rally at Soss Moss was excellent & although the rally field was a bit muddy getting on, help was at hand with the site owner's tractor. The weather was wonderful all weekend which added to the enjoyment.
Rally officers Wynn & Bob Barcoe made sure that we had use of the barn conversion for Saturday night & provided lots of entertainment.
The evening kicked off first by doing the raffle. We then had a quiz to test everyone's TV skills, General knowledge & we had some True or False questions as well. The picture round was really tough!
After the quiz, we all ate the delicious Hot Pot, kindly made by Wynn along with pickles, red cabbage & French stick - it went down a treat & the background music added to the friendly atmosphere.
After Hot Pot, the real fun began with a game of Hoy!
Each member had a game card with 9 playing cards displayed on it. Wynn was the caller & called out a playing card from her pack(s) one at a time. We all sat anxiously marking off our game cards, hoping for a line or full Hoy! A couple of false shouts were made, but only a 'Hoy' scoops the jackpot! A great game that everyone really enjoyed and kept wanting more games of.
After playing Hoy, it was general chit chat & doing what ERF members do best - knocking back the plonk!

Everybody had a really fun packed weekend - thanks to Wynn & Bob.
