Christmas Shopping - Dec 2nd - 4th Pleasure Land Southport

We had a good attendance of 12 vans, which is excellent for this time of year. The weather was pretty kind to us, not too cold - although the heavens opened just as we decided to put the gazebo up. This soon cleared up in time for Saturday nights activities.
The table centre pieces were of a very high standard - thank you to those who entered the competition.
Vics hot toddies were very popular, with some people having seconds. They washed down Laurels mince pies very nicely.
Everyone had been doing their breathing exercises for the Christmas carols, we are thinking of entering X factor next year!
Most people finished their Christmas shopping and everyone said how enjoyable the rally was, so we are definitely keeping it for next year. The only disappointment was that the information from the tourist office about the German Christmas Market was wrong. It didn't start until Thursday. A few photos are shown below.

As you can see the caravans are dwarfed by the TRAUMATIZER!

The pretty 'Wayfarers Arcade' with a tribute to Red Rum who was trained in Southport

Shouldn't Santa be sat there?

Halloween - October 28th - 30th Leycett Cricket Club Staffordshire

The rally at Leycett was very successful. We had a good attendance (15 vans ). This is the second year we have run a Halloween rally and everyone made a good effort. The fancy dress costumes were very impressive and the room certainly looked the part.
We had several games to play and even Dave the barman joined in with the bingo!
Games included - apple bobbing, the haunted attic, apple snapping, pin the leg on the skeleton and a peanut sucking race.
A lot of people managed to get the coin out of the dangling apple with their teeth - the winner being young Amy, who managed it in 6 seconds!
The haunted attic caused a few stirs when members put their hand through the spooky 'ole into all sorts of nasty things - which turned out to be spaghetti, chopped tomatoes, olives, pieces of balloon, pasta shells, werewolf fur glove and a sausage! A good job was done here by Kenny Dodds ( the operator) and Alan Jodrill ( box builder & score marker ).
Pin the leg on the skeleton was very amusing especially when Jill Jodrill turned the board upside down!
Apple bobbing - we had a few cheating members here. Little Megan thought she was taking a swim!
Thanks to Laura Woodward for mopping up after!
The peanut race was won by Emma & Steve Roberts with Brenda & Tony Harrison - a total of 100 peanuts, each one sucked up by a straw!

The stew was prepared by Jacqui Bickerton and was delicious!
Steve Roberts set the atmosphere with his scary sounds & lighting effects.
Thanks to all members for helping out & joining in.
Thanks to Gordon with the Henry Hoover!
